Montessori | Sensorial
Sensorial refers to an area of the Montessori classroom that focuses on refining the senses and creating a sense of order in the world around them.
Each work in the sensorial area of the classroom isolates one property or difficulty for the toddler to work with, such as matching the color of the ring to the color of the post (they are all the same size, so size is not a property of focus, only the color).
Sensorial works are designed to lay foundations for math, geometry, problem-solving, and language.
Well-known examples include the Pink Tower, Color Tablets, Sound Cylinders, Rough/Smooth Boards, Color Rings, and Puzzles.
